Genesis Rehab Services receives Aging2.0 Innovation Award
Kennett Square, PA – July 1, 2015 – Genesis Rehab Services (GRS) was presented with a 2015 Innovation Award for Innovation Immersion during Aging2.0’s Global Innovation Summit on May 18-19, 2015. The Aging2.0 Innovation Awards recognize organizations and individuals who improve the lives of older adults through advances in technology and services.
As a recipient of the Innovation Immersion award, GRS has demonstrated a commitment to mentoring startups and to bringing new ideas to realization. This commitment to innovation is evident with GRS’ newly created role of Director of Global Innovation held by Aging2.0 Innovation Fellow Sarah Thomas.
One of Thomas' recent endeavors as Director of Global Innovation for GRS included the design of an innovation center in China as a part of a vitality initiative to improve the health and well-being of global communities. In this design, GRS is able to showcase emerging technology solutions, offer local solutions to local initiatives of importance, host a startup-in-residence program featuring local technology companies, and allow entrepreneurs direct access to their community.
"We’re excited to include a fully immersed role for innovation in GRS’ leadership structure and look forward to further collaboration with Aging2.0," stated GRS President Dan Hirschfeld.
Thomas and Hirschfeld represented GRS at the invitation-only Aging2.0 Global Innovation Summit where industry leaders shared insight and discussed new technology and emerging trends. As a member of the Aging2.0 Leaders’ Circle, Hirschfeld participated on a “View from the C-Suite” panel with other top industry executives.
